U.S. Rep. Greg Steube’s office reported that the Florida Gulf Coast resident suffered “many significant injuries” after he fell off a ladder while trimming trees on his property.
Steube spent the night in the intensive care unit, where medical professionals still evaluated several severe injuries sustained in the Wednesday fall of 25 feet (7.6 meters).
His wounds are not thought to be life-threatening, according to a tweet.
The statement read, “He is making improvement and is in good spirits.”
The statement read, “Congressman Steube and his family would like to convey their sincere gratitude to the team of doctors, nurses, and medical staff treating him.
The swift response and transfer to the hospital were also credited to “one individual” who saw the fall and dialed 911 and Sarasota County’s emergency services.
According to the statement, “We will offer additional updates as soon as practical.” “Pray for the Congressman and his family,” was said.
Late on Wednesday, fellow Republican and vice chair of the Florida GOP Christian Ziegler tweeted that he had just learned that Steube was still in the hospital but doing well. In the tweet, Ziegler said, “Big relief to hear.
Steube, who was most recently elected to his third term in the House of Representatives, was initially elected in 2018.
He covers all of Lee County, all of Charlotte County, and all of Sarasota County.
