Shomrim receives thousands of calls a year dozens of different types of incidences we always rise to the occasion mid-March the unthinkable happened the infamous coronavirus our community was hit hard the phones started ringing off the hook we were not prepared nor trained yet shomrim rose to the situation
Within 24 hours we were in possession of a few dozen oxygen concentrators and trained a team within the organization for delivery and safe setups. we quickly realized that it won’t be enough 48 hours later we were able to erase a quarter of a million dollars and purchase an additional 200 machines which were next to impossible to get in the first place in these times. Yet we did
Through our efforts we were able to keep over 400 people out of the hospital furthermore we arranged for well visits each day for each person from doctors physician assistants and nurses that was a total of over 1,500! visits all organized and driven by our members that include Shabbat and Yom Tov
This week we picked up one of the very few remaining machines that were delivered throughout the crisis (a handful of people still need to be on it) from no other than RABBI NACHUM. A well-known and one of the most respected rabbis in sefardi community. Watch his response
