David Stern, the victim of the shooting attack on Sunday in Huwara, was shown in a gripping video while miraculously recovering from a brain injury.
Mr. Stern, a former US Marine, spoke from his hospital room in Petach Tikva just two days after being gravely hurt in the terror assault, detailing the horrifying ordeal and pleading with the government to strengthen security against more terror strikes. Incredibly, Mr. Stern was able to stop the terrorist from shooting at his automobile and even hurting him.
“I was traveling to Jerusalem on Sunday in my Huwara vehicle with my wife. When the terrorist was about to cross the street when I arrived, I stopped to let him, Mr. Stern added in Hebrew.
The terrorist was suspiciously concealing one of his hands, Mr. Stern observed. As soon as I said that, I reached for my gun. We almost simultaneously began firing at each other as the terrorist turned to face me. As I could see from the side window, he fired around ten bullets before running away.
I shifted the vehicle a few hundred meters before stopping. In a few minutes, the ambulance arrived and transported me to the hospital, I began applying a tourniquet and a bandage.
I first want to thank Hashem and all of Am Yisrael for their prayers and support. I can genuinely sense everyone’s affection. I appreciate it very lot,” he said. We cannot continue this way; luckily survived the attack, but what will happen to the next family? I want to make the statement that we must reinstate the barriers. ”
