Orthodox Jewish leaders and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) met earlier this week in New York. One of the attendees who could be seen in a picture posted by DeSantis on social media was Rabbi Yaakov Menken, managing director of the Coalition for Jewish Values.
Menken told JNS, “I think he hit many of the appropriate notes. He obviously wanted our advice on how to best serve us and all Americans in a future administration.
Menken told JNS that the Florida governor’s comparison of the Orthodox community to other minority groups that receive little attention in the media—in both cases for ideological reasons—particularly moved him.
Menken praised the piece for “clear insight into the unfair treatment and its underlying causes.”
