On Monday, Pope Francis denied reports that he was resigning due to his knee problems and other ailments.

The 85-year-old pontiff revealed that despite the small fracture in his knee for the past month or so, he still hopes to visit Canada for a week beginning on July 24, then plans to travel to Kyiv and Moscow amid ongoing fighting between Ukraine and Russia.

Pope Francis said his recovery is fast due to his laser and magnet therapy regimen.

According to reports, the Argentine native’s papacy began in March 2013.

He succeeded Pope Benedict XVI, who became the first pope to resign from the position in nearly 700 years.

The religious leader said he got his injury while stepping awkwardly when his knee was inflamed.
