Those who experienced harassment on Shabbat while traveling to or from synagogue are urged to report it to the police by a volunteer community patrol that guards Baltimore’s Jewish community.
On March 4, there were several antisemitic events, according to a Baltimore Shomrim community warning.
Witnesses report that someone driving a dark-colored Chevy Cruze was stopping members of the Jewish community close to places of worship, making disparaging remarks about Jews, and demanding money, according to the report.
Several instances were captured on security camera film given to the local police department.
The alert stated, “If you or anyone you know is a victim of one of the these or similar incidents, please contact Shomrim immediately.
“If you recognize the offending vehicle, proceed with extreme caution, don’t approach the vehicle, and get in touch with Shomrim and 911 immediately.”
