In addition to being accused of providing about 5.5 million euros ($6 million) to Hamas, “they are also suspected of participating in a criminal organization whose purpose is to support Hamas financially,” according to the public prosecution office.
According to the prosecution, this group took the place of an earlier, authorized entity that funded Hamas.
They stated that the investigation was started as a result of complaints of odd transactions and press headlines concerning a Hamas fundraising event in Europe.
The two are still being held.
