The company’s co-founder Steve Wozniak signed one of the earliest Apple personal computers, which was sold at auction for more than $223,000.

The Apple-1 came with a unique case with a built-in keyboard, according to Boston-based RR Auction, which staged the sale that ended on Thursday, and it has been restored to a fully functional state.

About 200 were produced in the Los Altos, California, garage of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 1976 and 1977, assisting in the establishment of the business that, in June, became the first publicly traded company to end a trading day with a market value of $3 trillion.

It was originally sold for $666, but RR predicted it would sell for around $200,000.

In 2017, Wozniak inscribed the Apple-1 with the initials „Woz” at a gathering at Bryant University.

The individual who sold it bought it, used and used it all through the 1980s. It was purchased at a computer hobbyist exhibition in Framingham, Massachusetts.

The auction house claimed that Apple expert Corey Cohen restored it to a functional state earlier this year.

According to RR Auction, it was purchased by a collector who requests anonymity. According to RR, an original handwritten Apple-1 Computer advertising by Jobs that was auctioned at the same auction went for close to $176,000 in price.

More than $135,000 was paid for Apple Company Check No. 2, which was dated March 19, 1976, and was signed by Jobs and Wozniak.
