In a dramatic, heartbreaking CNN video, angry East Palestine locals questioned the Norfolk Southern CEO at a town hall meeting over the deadly train crash in Ohio.
James Stewart, a local who lives a mere block away from the catastrophe, spoke movingly as he detailed the awful ordeal he and his neighbors had gone through.
“East Palestinians are being treated like idiots. We are not ignorant. I’m furious. I’ve lived in East Palestine for 65 years, but now that I’m afraid to let my dog outside, I don’t feel secure here. You took it away from me, and your business is awful.
“I lost a lot, I lost the value of my home,” he continued. What shall we now do? The other day, when we returned home, the scent returned as soon as we stepped outside, giving us an instant headache. I have heart disease, diabetes, and A-fib at 65. Did you make me live any less now? ”
“We planned to put our house up for sale. Our value plummeted… Your organization needs to act now! ”
