The US State Department confirmed on Thursday that a 67-year-old American was killed in Ukraine during Russian attacks on the city of Chernihiv.
Sources identified the victim as Jimmy Hill, a native of Minnesota who died due to a sniper attack.
According to reports, Hill was waiting in a bread line when he and others were gunned down by Russian snipers.
Prior to his death, it was reported that Hill was caring for his wide Ira at a hospital in Chernihiv when Russia launched its unprovoked attack on Feb. 24.
Hill was the second American casualty in the war after the March 13 death of journalist Brent Renaud.
