During a trip to the United States the next week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will have a meeting with billionaire businessman Elon Musk, the Israeli leader’s office announced on Thursday.

The agenda for their meeting, which is scheduled for Monday, was not made public by Netanyahu’s administration. It comes as Musk is under fire for allegedly tolerating antisemitic comments on his social media network, X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Anti-Defamation League has charged Musk with enabling the propagation of antisemitism and hate speech on X. By lately interacting with them on X, its director, Jonathan Greenblatt, claimed that Musk had “amplified” the messages of neo-Nazis and white supremacists who want to abolish the league.

In a post on September 4, Musk said the league was “trying to kill this platform by falsely accusing it and me of being anti-Semitic.”

In other posts, he claimed the league was to blame for a 60% decline in X’s revenue and that his company would have “no choice” but to file a defamation lawsuit against the group. “Oh, how ironic! he wrote. “He had not made good on this threat as of Thursday.

However, X did initiate legal action against another organization that investigated the rise of hate speech on the site.

It filed a lawsuit against the organization Center for Countering Digital Hate in August, claiming that by inappropriately gathering a sizable amount of data for its analysis, the center had violated X’s terms of service.

The complaint asserts that the company lost millions of dollars in advertising revenue as a result of the group’s research showing an increase in hate speech on the old Twitter since Musk took charge.

But Twitter-focused observers contend that the platform’s erratic adjustments, including the removal of its well-known brand name, have decreased interest from advertisers.

Greenblatt claims that his organization is “willing to work” with X and met with Linda Yaccarino, the company’s CEO, last week.

In recent posts, both Musk and Yaccarino declared their opposition to anti-Semitism.

On Monday, Netanyahu is due to go to San Francisco before continuing on to New York, where he will likely give a speech to the United Nations.
