
The leaders of the two nations announced late Thursday that the Democratic Republic of the Congo will move its embassy to Jerusalem and Israel will establish a diplomatic post in Kinshasa.
Following similar recent announcements by Paraguay and Sierra Leone as well as the opening earlier this month of the Papua New Guinea embassy in Israel’s capital city, the news was made public after a joint meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi outside of the UN General Assembly general debate in New York.
