Tenable has purchased Ermetic, a four-year-old Israeli business focused on cloud security, for $265 million.

They have 150 employees and offices in Palo Alto, Boston, and Tel Aviv. Glilot, Accel, Qumra, ForgePoint, and Norwest Ventures are a few US and Israeli venture capital firms that supported Ermetic.

This acquisition of Checkpoints comes shortly after that of the Israeli cyber company Atmosec. Israel is a global leader in cyber security, holding 5% of the market thanks to its 300+ cyber enterprises.

The demand for cloud-native security products has grown significantly as infrastructure migrates to the cloud. Large businesses can get services from Ermetic for CIEM (cloud infrastructure entitlement management) and CNAPP (cloud native application protection platform).

Tenable, a market leader in exposure management, recently paid $100 million for the Tel Aviv-based startup Indegy in December 2019.

Tenable presently has a market valuation of $5.2 billion.
