The local police said three firefighters were injured when a raging inferno engulfed a Long Island home Sunday morning.

The Suffolk County Police Arson Section detectives said an off-duty smoke eater spotted the blaze at 88 Woodycrest Drive while driving in Farmingville around 1 a.m. and sprung into action.

The police said the injured firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

Aside from the firefighters the no residents were injured in the deadly fire.

A deeper fire investigation on the incident is now underway.
