
After IDF troops killed nine Palestinians in Jenin early on Thursday, Yoav Gallant, the defense minister, met with military and security officials to review the situation, according to JNS.

Heavy fighting between militants and Israeli troops took place in Jenin on Thursday morning, resulting in the deaths of nine Palestinians.

The IDF reported that the wanted guys opened fire while being apprehended and were killed in a gunfight.

Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, declared three days of mourning for the nine victims.
The P.A. also announced a one-day nationwide strike. According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, a memorial service was held on Thursday.
Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of Hamas, stated that Israel “will pay the price for the Jenin slaughter,” while Tariq Salmi, a spokesman for Islamic Jihad, asserted that “the resistance is everywhere and ready and willing for the next conflict.”

The UN representative to the Middle East, Tor Wennesland, expressed his “deep shock and sadness” over the killings of the nine Palestinians.
“High levels of violence and other unfavorable characteristics marked 2022 have persisted since the start of this year.
He said it is critical to ease tensions immediately and stop further casualties.
Wennesland continued, “I urge the Israeli and Palestinian authorities to de-escalate the situation, restore calm, and prevent additional conflict, and I stay actively engaged.
