A homemade boat that sank near the Florida Keys left five people missing, and the U.S. Coast Guard was looking for them on Sunday.
The Coast Guard tweeted that four persons perished when the boat capsized and that they were still looking for five more.
According to the Coast Guard, “several rescued were wearing life jackets, saving their lives amid 6- to 8-foot seas and 30-mph gusts.”
“Search teams found two unconscious, unresponsive people. It’s unknown if these individuals are among the five people still missing or the four drowning victims who have been reported.
After the “group took to the water aboard a homemade craft that capsized during a failed migration endeavor,” authorities stated the boat capsized about 50 miles from Little Torch Key, Florida.
The Coast Guard tagged the United States even though it did not specify the nation from where the boat came.
