
Four individuals were hurt by an explosion that occurred at a building in Tokyo’s Shimbashi business area on Monday.
The explosion broke windows and sprayed smoke, according to department authorities.
According to the Tokyo Fire Department, the explosion happened inside a restaurant on the second level of an eight-story structure, wounding two people there as well as two bystanders who were struck by glass fragments.
The four injured were all conscious, according to fire department authorities, but no more information was available.
Three of them, according to NHK national television, had significant injuries.
According to NHK, the explosion started when the restaurant’s owner, who was among the injured, flicked his lighter after smelling either gas or sewage as he entered a smoking room.
