Following discovering a potential brake fluid leak that could cause a fire, General Motors recalls particular Chevrolet Silverado medium-duty trucks for model years 2019 and beyond.
Affected automobiles could number 40,428. According to documents published by American safety regulators on Saturday, they consist of 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD cars with model years between 2019 and 2023.
The brake pressure sensor assembly in the cars may allow brake fluid to leak and result in a short circuit. As a result, there is a higher chance that a fire will start when the car is moving or is parked.
Owners of potentially affected models are advised by GM to park outside and away from buildings while the recall repair is being done.
Before 2019, a different design was used in vehicles.
GM claimed that it is unaware of any accidents caused by the problem.
