New York Governor Kathy Hochul is one happy and proud woman these days.
On Saturday, Hochul celebrated becoming a grandmother as her son and daughter-in-law welcomed their first baby daughter.
“Welcome to the world, Sofia! My son Billy and daughter-in-law Christina are going to be the best parents,” Hochul said.
“This new grandma couldn’t be happier,” Hochul added.

Sources said the very excited Hochul traveled to Washington D.C. on Sunday to meet the new addition and returned to Albany later in the evening.
Hochul is running for a first full term and is leading in polls over two main Democratic primary rivals, New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.), who represents Long Island.
