Har HaBayis Visited by Ben-Gvir

Itamar Ben-Gvir, the national security minister, visited Har HaBayis on Tuesday morning to observe the fast of Asara B’Teves for the first time since the elections.

This trip had been postponed for several weeks owing to security issues and threats from the Hamas terror group.

Ben-Gvir planned the visit with the police and arrived at the location surrounded by police officers and his bodyguards.

During his visit, Ben-Gvir declared: “Our administration will not capitulate to Hamas’ threats.

The most critical location for Am Yisrael is Har HaBayis. Muslims and Christians can practice their religion freely, but Jews will also visit the Har, and anyone making threats will be handled harshly.

It was established that there were no obstacles to reaching the site during a situational assessment that Ben-Gvir conducted on Monday evening with the Israel Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, the commander of the Jerusalem district, and the head of the Shin Bet.

The security establishment reportedly warned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that Ben-visit Gvir’s to the site could result in a security escalation, including the launch of rockets from the Gaza Strip and an uptick in terrorist activity in the already tense areas of Yehudah and Shomron, and Jerusalem.

According to media reports on Monday evening, Ben-Gvir postponed his trip to Har HaBayis a few days after their conversation.

On Monday, Hamas issued a warning, saying it “will not watch idly by”

The announcement by the criminal Ben-Gvir that he intended to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque “reflects the arrogance of the fascist settler government and its planned intentions to escalate the invasions of Al-Aqsa to divide it,” according to a statement from the Hamas spokesman Abdel-Latif al-Qanua.

Itamar Ben-Gvir must not ascend to Har HaBayit, according to the opposition leader, Yair Lapid, who said on Monday.

It is a provocation that will spark violence that will put lives in danger and take them.

Despite Bibi’s frailty, he must, this time, stand up and say, “You are not going up to Har HaBayit because people will die.

“This happens when a weak prime minister is compelled to entrust the most irresponsible man in the Middle East with the most combustible place in the Middle East,” Lapid remarked after Ben-visit.
