Choose Your Preferred New Siri Voice

Yes, Siri has new voice options from the regular female assistance. Apple has now added two totally new voices and made subtle improvements to the previous voices. In total, there are four voices English speakers get to choose from when setting up a new device. If you want to change Siri’s voice, you can do it at any time by going into the Settings app, then go to Siri & Search > Siri Voice. Under the Voice section, you’ll find four different options. Voice 2 and Voice 3 are new.

Stop Apps From Tracking You

After a long and controversial wait, Apple has finally introduced the requirement for apps to ask for permission to track you across your Apple devices. If you decline the request, or block apps from asking you altogether, the developer has to honor your decision. If an app is caught tracking you without permission, it could get kicked out of the App Store. To check out the new feature, go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking on your iPhone or iPad.

Unlock Your iPhone While Wearing A Mask (Only If You Have An Apple Watch)

With iOS 14.5, the iPhone will now look for your paired Apple Watch to unlock itself whenever it sees the bottom half of your face is covered. If your watch is nearby, your iPhone will unlock just as fast as it normally does when using Face ID. To set up this new unlock tool; open the Settings app on your iPhone and then select Face ID & Passcode, enter your PIN when asked. Next, scroll down until you find the section titled Unlock with Apple Watch. The name of your Apple Watch should be listed there. Next to it is a toggle to turn the feature on or off. Slide that switch to the On position and then back out of the Settings app. Once you do this, all you have to do is hold your phone up like you normally would to unlock it with Face ID. You’ll feel a haptic tap on your wrist, letting you know your watch was used to unlock your phone.
