
A 20-year-old yeshiva student died and two of his companions were injured when a car struck them from behind on Highway 1, the main Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway early Friday morning.
ZAKA, an Israeli rescue group identified the victim as Naftali Syewitz, a yeshiva student from Modi’in Illit.
Syewitz and his two companions were walking along the shoulder of the road when the tragic hit and run incident occurred.
The victim died due to multiple injuries caused by the road accident.
The two companions of the victim are now being treated at the Tel Hashomer hospital.
In a follow-up operation, the local police already arrested the driver of the car, a 19-year-old resident of Elad.
