Honda Recalls Nearly 1.2 Million Vehicles Because the Rear Camera Image May Not Appear on the Dashboard Screen

Due to the possibility that the rear view camera picture could not display on the dashboard screen, Honda is recalling almost 1.2 million vehicles in the United States.

Certain Odyssey minivans from 2018 to 2023, Pilot SUVs from 2019 to 2022, and Passport SUVs from 2019 to 2023 are included in the recall.

In papers made available by American safety officials on Friday, Honda claims that the issue was caused by a defective coaxial cable connection.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a driver’s visibility may be reduced and the danger of a collision increased if the rear view camera image doesn’t appear.

From May 2017 to June 8, the business claims to have received over 274,000 warranty claims.

There have been no reports of injuries.

Owners will be informed via mail starting on July 24 that dealers will repair a cable harness and install a straightening cover at no cost to them.
