Hundreds of residents were evacuated when a huge forest fire broke out early Sunday near the northern city of Ma’alot-Tarshicha.
Due to the fire residents living in 100 homes near the blaze were immediately evacuated by 15 firefighting teams and six planes dispatched in the area.
Luckily except for burned houses and a vehicle no one was reported injured in the blaze.
Aside from the forest fire, other fire-related incidents were also reported in Israel over the weekend.
On Friday evening, all residents of the village Gita, in the Galilee region of northern Israel – 75 households – were evacuated as a large forest fire posed a real danger to the community.
No one was also injured in the incident but six houses were damaged by the fire.
On Shabbos afternoon, close to the central village Zeitan, families were also evacuated after a fire broke out.
No injuries or damages were also reported.
Authorities suspect both blazes were caused by arson.
