After a lengthy development and production process spanning more than five years, Israel’s Defense Ministry and IDF unveiled the Barak tank on Tuesday.
With cutting-edge technology features, including Al-based intelligence capabilities, the Barak battle tank is regarded as the most advanced in the world.
The “IronVision” high-tech helmet, which creates real-time views of the tank’s surroundings, will be worn by the Barak tank commander.
According to the Defense Ministry, “the system will enable 360-degree scanning by moving the head and locating targets in real-time with the aid of artificial intelligence capabilities.”
The 52nd Armored Battalion of the 401st Brigade has received the first models. “How symbolic that in these days when we mark the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, we receive additional proof of the relevance and power of the tank as a fundamental and decisive factor in land maneuvering,” Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated.
