
On Tuesday morning, according to authorities, an explosion and fire at an industrial facility in a Miami suburb killed two people and injured three more.
Video from a nearby company and TV news helicopters indicated that the explosion in the small city of Medley caused multiple trucks and other cars to catch fire and shoot a massive fireball into the sky.
Alvaro Zabaleta, a spokesman for Miami-Dade police, reported that two people were pronounced deceased at the site.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, a third person received treatment on the site while two others, which had catastrophic injuries, were taken to a hospital.
According to fire officials, putting out the fires took roughly 90 minutes, and the cause is being looked into.
At the location of the explosion, there are listed businesses for welding shops and vehicle cleaning.
Most of Medley, around 12 miles northwest of downtown Miami, has industrial and business facilities.
