A resident of Gaza revealed why he hasn’t left the city despite all the airstrikes and despite Israel’s pleas for people to move south to Khan Younis in a recorded chat with an IDF intelligence officer. The resident explained that Hamas was blocking citizens’ attempts to flee by setting up obstacles and even opening fire on those who did so.
According to the IDF, who released the conversation on Thursday, “the Hamas terror organization continues to use the residents of the Gaza Strip as human shields and prevent them from fleeing northward, as we have seen in the past, by erecting roadblocks to prevent their exit.”
