Later this month, Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, will go to Poland and Germany to observe International Holocaust Remembrance Day and participate in conferences addressing the rise of antisemitism in the United States and around the world.

Emhoff will visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, the first Jew to be married to one of the top two nationally elected U.S. politicians.

Emhoff will also visit Krakow, Poland. Then, he will fly to Berlin to attend a gathering of coordinators and special envoys from Europe engaged in the battle against antisemitism.

Emhoff will be traveling from January 26 to January 31 as part of his increasingly outspoken efforts to combat anti-Jewish hatred and violence worldwide.

Since Harris, it will be one of his high-profile solo performances.

Emhoff will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Auschwitz-Birkenau as part of the commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The American special envoy to track and combat antisemitism, Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, will accompany him on some of the journeys.

He is also anticipated to visit nearby historical and cultural sites and meet with local Jewish communities and civic society leaders.

Emhoff will meet with the Democratic and Republican co-chairs of the House bipartisan task committee for battling antisemitism on Thursday before leaving.

Emhoff has shifted his attention to domestic antisemitism after speaking about it at a roundtable with Jewish leaders at the White House a month prior.

He remarked, “I do appreciate the magnitude of this obligation.

“And let me stress that I won’t keep quiet like the second gentleman. I’m proud to be Jewish, and I’m proud to live openly as a Jew. I have no fear. We cannot remain terrified. We refuse to be terrified.”

Former President Donald Trump recently welcomed a white nationalist who denies the Holocaust to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Ye, a musician formerly known as Kanye West, confessed in an interview that he loved Adolf Hitler.

Basketball player Kyrie Irving seemed to endorse an antisemitic film on social media.

In response to Twitter’s new CEO Elon Musk’s “amnesty” policy for suspended accounts, neo-Nazi trolls are screaming to return.

When his wife was chosen vice president, Emhoff, a wealthy entertainment attorney in California, made public remarks about his great-grandparents’ escape from persecution in what is now Poland to the U.S.

He declared, “I will speak out against hate, racism, and lies as long as I have this microphone.”

“I will speak out against those who laud Nazi murderers and idealize fanatics.

I’m going to speak out against those who deny the Holocaust. I will call out any who refuse to comply.
