The proof-of-concept stage for a digital Israel Bond traded on a specialized blockchain platform has been completed, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) and Israel’s Finance Ministry announced on Tuesday.
Israel is now positioned to issue the first digital government bond ever.
The partnership between the TASE and the office of the Accountant General within the Finance Ministry “marks a significant milestone in revolutionizing the settlement and issuance processes in traditional capital markets,” the TASE stated.
