Israel Reopens Gaza Crossing

By 09/28/2023 8:48 PMNo CommentsBy YidInfo Staff

Israel reopened the Erez checkpoint on Thursday, enabling over 17,000 Gazan laborers to enter Israel despite the recent violent riots by Gazan terrorists, which included attempts to fire Israeli soldiers and the launching of terror balloons over the Gazan border.

In retaliation for the provocations, Israel has attacked the Gaza Strip several times over the past week and shut down the Erez border. But despite the fact that violent rioting with live fire took place hours earlier, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) decided to reopen the border on Wednesday evening, subject to security assessments.

The “Rebellious Youth” group, which has been in charge of planning the riots and terror balloons, reportedly declared on Thursday that it is suspending operations until further notice.
