Israeli missile attacks render the airport in Damascus inoperable

By 01/02/2023 11:45 AMNo CommentsBy YidInfo Staff

Early on Monday, Israel launched missiles at Damascus’ international airport, knocking it out of commission and killing two troops and injuring two more, according to the Syrian army.

Without providing more information, the army stated that the attack, which was the first this year, also resulted in material damage in the neighborhood.

It was the second time in less than a year that the Damascus International Airport had been shut down.

Israel didn’t offer any commentary.

Israeli airstrikes severely damaged infrastructure and runways that hit Damascus International Airport on June 10.

After renovations, it reopened two weeks later.

Israel has attacked government-controlled areas of Syria on hundreds of occasions in recent years, although it rarely admits or talks about these actions.

However, Israel has confirmed that it strikes the facilities of militant organizations with ties to Iran, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which has dispatched thousands of men to aid Syrian President Bashar Assad’s army.
