
The U.S.-backed Kata’ib Hezbollah Shi’ite militia is supported by Iran. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office disclosed on Wednesday that an organization that the State Department has designated as a foreign terrorist organization is keeping a dual Russian-Israeli citizen prisoner in Iraq.

“The matter is being handled by the relevant parties in the State of Israel out of concern for Elizabeth Tsurkov’s security,” it continued.
Tsurkov, who holds a Russian passport, was in Iraq conducting research for her doctoral degree.
