Ivanka Trump, who served as a critical adviser to her father throughout his 2016 presidential campaign and four years in office, has announced that she will avoid politics for the time being.
Near the conclusion of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago announcement of his candidacy, she released the following statement:
“I adore my father dearly. This time, I’ve decided to put my young children’s needs and the private life we’re building as a family first.
I have no intention of participating in politics. Ivanka added, “While I will always love and support my father, I will do so outside the political sphere moving forward.
“I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments, and I am grateful to have had the privilege of serving the American people,” she continued.
Ivanka Trump missed Tuesday night’s announcement at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.
She reportedly attended the luncheon with her husband, Jared Kushner, who is also a pivotal counselor to Trump.
