According to TIME magazine’s third annual list of the World’s Best Destinations, Jerusalem was selected as one of the 50 most amazing places to visit.
TIME sought suggestions for the list from nations, regions, cities, and towns through its global network of correspondents and contributors.
To meet the requirements of TIME, the sites “must be captivating, interesting, and provide new or advanced experiences,” the outlet stated.
Together with Kyoto in Japan, Musanze in Rwanda, Giza and Saqqara in Egypt, Ladakh in India, and Aqaba in Jordan, Jerusalem is featured as a destination.
According to TIME, one of the top city attractions is the 360-degree view of Jerusalem from the Tower of David Museum.
The museum is set to return to the public on June 1 following a three-year, $50 million refurbishment and conservation project that involves preserving and safeguarding the historic stronghold and archaeological park.
Other sights in the Israeli capital included the Biblical Zoo, Jaffa Gate, Kerem Tunnel, and Mahane Yehudah market.
