At the Crossroads of Civilizations Museum in Dubai the following week, Yeshiva University and the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities will host the first-ever joint conference between an American Jewish university and an Emirati university.
The conference will increase chances for communication between Jews and Muslims in the Middle East and develop academic links between Yeshiva University and the United Arab Emirates.
The presentation, “Interacting Philosophies, Shared Friendships,” will discuss social dynamics, philosophical discussions, and the reciprocal influence of Judaism and Islam, particularly emphasizing the great 14th-century scholar Moses Maimonides (Rambam).
Local officials, religious leaders, academics, and students from the two universities will attend, and a kosher meal will be provided.
