Lady boxing judge gets 6 months suspension for scorecard, racist tweets

The World Boxing Association (WBA) has issued a six-month suspension on lady boxing judge Gloria Martinez Rizzo for allegedly scoring badly in a boxing match and for some racist tweets.

WBA president Gilberto Mendoza made the suspension after seeing a boxing scorecard made by Rizzo on Saturday did not reflect the actual outcome in a boxing match.

It was also discovered that Rizzo made some racist comments against former first lady Michelle Obama and NBA superstar forward Lebron James.

‘Ok monkey face your time is gone bye-bye,’ read a tweet from the ‘@GloriaRizz’ account in response to a 2018 story about the former First Lady.

‘Le Brom (sic) is so stupid that the only thing he can do is play basketball, other than that go back to the stable,’ read another tweet from October of 2020.

The controversial scorecard pertains to the fight between Gabriel Maestre and Mykal Fox.

Rizzo scored the fight 117-110 for Maestre.

Maestre won the fight but based on the scorecards of the two other judges he won narrowly (115-112, 114-113) but on Rizzo’s scorecard he won dominantly 117-110.

Mendoza said there is something wrong with the way Rizzo scored the bout.
