An internal memo from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) obtained by media revealed that the deadly delta variant is very contagious like chickenpox.
The internal memo made the revelation since it wants health officials to “acknowledge the war has changed” and cites still-unpublished data showing that individuals vaccinated against COVID-19 may transmit the delta variant just as easily as unvaccinated groups.
In the wake of the leaked memo, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky calls on the public to always wear masks in “public, indoor settings” in areas of the country with “substantial” or “high” levels of transmission of COVID-19.
The same memo further revealed that the delta variant could be more infectious than the viruses that cause MERS, SARS, Ebola, the common cold, the seasonal flu, and smallpox.
Sources said CDC is very worried about the study and hopes the public will continue to wear masks in public and that more people will get vaccinated across the United States.
