Regrettably, Yidinfo must tell you of the Petira of Flatbush/Lakewood resident Reb Boruch Harar Z”L. He was about 85 years old.
Reb Boruch was a member of a group of Moroccan Bochrim that the revered rosh yeshiva, Hagaon HaRav Avraham Kalmanowitz ZATZAL, had brought from Morocco to the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn.
He was raised in the Yeshiva, where he raised a mishpacha of Bnei Torah, almost all of them are magidei Shiurim or serve in other chinuch roles, and he never left the area.
He was the long-time owner of Paradise Mattress in New York.
Years after relocating to Lakewood, he visited the Mirrer Yeshiva for Yomim Noraim every year because he couldn’t bear to miss davening there.
Unfortunately, he had various medical issues and was Niftar on Sunday night.
He leaves a devoted wife and family behind. Reb Dovid, Reb Chaim, Mrs. Manis (Wife of Reb Boruch), and Mrs. Frand are some of his Lakewood-based children (wife of Reb Boruch). Reb Gershon and Reb Eli, two of his sons, are residing in Flatbush.
At 1 PM, the Levaya will take place at Lakewood’s 7th Street Chapel. Lakewood, New Jersey 08701; 613 Ramsey Ave.
