With some big announcements featured in PlayStation’s State of Play show, gamers are all set to witness new versions of popular games, among other new updates from Sony.
First up, Sony debuted a new God of War Ragnarok trailer that shared some peeks at new mystical realms that look otherworldly. Sony also revealed a Ragnarok-themed DualSense controller. The controller and the game itself will be released soon: both will be available on November 9th.
Sony also showed off the first trailer for a new Tekken game, Tekken 8, during Tuesday’s showcase. Tekken 8 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X / S, and PC via Steam, though no release window was shared.
Next up is a samurai-themed game from the developers of the popular Yakuza series, named Like a Dragon: Ishin!, which arrives in February 2023 for PS5 and PS4. Ishin! is a remake of the game Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!, which first came out on PS3 and PS4 in 2014, but only in Japan.
Other new games include Rise of the Ronin, which is set in the late 19th century and looks like a mix of Ghost of Tsushima and Assassin’s Creed. The game is releasing in 2024 as a PS5 console exclusive.
Lastly, Sony released a short trailer for Hogwarts Legacy, the new Harry Potter prequel title, and revealed that if you’re picking up the PlayStation version of the game you’ll have access to an exclusive quest called The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop. The quest will be exclusive for one year. Hogwarts Legacy will now be released on February 10th, 2023, following a recent delay.
