
Two victims died after a man stabbed numerous people on a train in northern Germany on Wednesday before being arrested by police, according to the German news agency dpa.
The regional train from Kiel to Hamburg was about to arrive at the Brokstedt station when the man allegedly attacked several passengers with a knife.
According to a preliminary inquiry, seven people had injuries, the police department reported.
According to Sabine Suetterlin-Waack, the interior minister for the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the attack occurred around three in the afternoon and resulted in two fatalities and five injuries.
According to the news agency, Brokstedt’s train station was shut down for several hours.
Police refused to provide dpa with details about the suspect’s identity and stated they were looking into any potential motivations.
On Wednesday, no one from the concerned police departments could be reached.
