The Mossad and Shin Bet organizations will utilize Chareidim to fill new national service (Sherut Leumi) positions for the first time since their inception, according to Kan News.
Each organization will take on 100 of the 200 Chareidi volunteers who are 21 or older. After receiving specialized training, the volunteers will work for two years. The Intelligence Ministry and the National Service Authority will each contribute funding to the program.
The program’s approval was discussed last week during a meeting between the directors of the Mossad and Shin Bet with Gila Gamliel, the intelligence minister.
Next month is when the program is anticipated to begin.
