BDE: Mrs. Shoshana Goldstein, a 34-year-old mother of twins who fell ten days ago after reportedly experiencing dehydration during an extreme heat wave, was pronounced dead by Shaare Tzedek hospital medical staff.
Goldstein, a resident of Zichron Yaakov Street in the Romema area, collapsed at home, lost consciousness, and was rushed to Shaare Tzedek Hospital with no pulse.
Both of her children were delivered through emergency c-section and given lifesaving resuscitation by a huge team of medical professionals.
The day after his delivery, one of the twins passed tragically, but physicians kept trying to save the mother and the other infant, who was in a very bad condition.
Goldstein was eventually diagnosed with cerebral edema, but doctors were quick to point out that she had not experienced a heart attack, stroke, or pulmonary embolism; rather, she had merely become dehydrated in 40° heat and collapsed owing to her prior heart problem and other health conditions.
At 11 a.m., Mrs. Goldstein’s levaya will depart from Shamgar Funeral Home and travel to Har Hamenuchos. May God bless her Memories.
