Three criminal cases were filed against a 35-year-old man from Brooklyn for beating a 32-year-old Jewish man in Crown Heights last month.
Eric Redding is sued for assault as a hate crime, aggravated harassment, and menacing hate crime for attacking the victim at President Street and Utica Avenue in Crown Heights around 3:00 PM Friday.
Based on the police record, REdding approached the victim and asked him, “What are you looking at?” before punching him in the face and head.
The police said the suspect also started punching the man in the head and kicking him in the legs, making anti-Semitic remarks, including “Nazis should have killed you Jews.”
Sources said the victim was walking to a synagogue and wearing traditional Hasidic attire when the attack occurred.
