Nancy Pelosi in hot water for video of maskless people at California fundraiser

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hugged the limelight over the weekend after she was caught on a video addressing an outdoor crowd of mask-less Democratic bigwigs in COVID-19-riddled Napa Valley.

A clip of the close-quartered California fundraiser was posted on Facebook by Democratic Party donor and winemaker Kathryn Walt Hall — and promptly blasted out on Twitter.

The video shows dozens of unmasked people seated elbow to elbow at long luncheon tables as Pelosi (D-Calif.) gave a speech and masked waiters ambled between the listeners.

Based on the data from the CDC, Napa country is tagged as a coronavirus hotspot, garnering the designation of “high” for its current level of transmission.

The CDC ruled that while “in general, you do not need to wear a mask in outdoor settings,” people should consider it because of the potential dangers if they don’t.

On its website, CDC said in the coronavirus hotspot people are required to wear masks especially those who have yet to receive their COVID-19 vaccine.

The video is also a slap for Pelosi since she is a strong advocate of mask-wearing mandates, including in the House.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) calls Pelosi’s action on video a form of hypocrisy.

“Speaker Pelosi wants to lock you down again while she wines and dines with her political donors,” MacCarthy said.
