Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims that a historic development leading to a peace deal with Saudi Arabia is “at the cusp” for Israel. in a speech to the U.N. Netanyahu stated at the General Assembly on Friday that “peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia will truly create a new Middle East.”
The United States has been attempting to mediate a deal in which Saudi Arabia would resume diplomatic ties with Israel in exchange for a military agreement with the United States, assistance in establishing a civilian nuclear program, and advancements in the establishment of a Palestinian state.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated that an agreement between the two parties is approaching.
Such a transaction, however, would encounter significant challenges. A significant step toward peace with the Palestinians is reportedly being pushed by the Saudis, which will be difficult for Netanyahu’s cabinet to support because it is the most hawkish in Israeli history.
