According to an investigation by FindStorageFast, searches for “sell my home fast” on Google soared 2,504% across the United States on June 7th, while New York turned orange due to dangerous pollution from Canadian wildfires.
According to the study, during the stressful weather phenomenon, searches for “sell my house fast” jumped up by 2,147%, closely trailing behind. Searches for “sell my house” and “sell home” also increased significantly, by 326% and 307%, respectively, albeit not with the same dramatic surge.
New Yorkers’ frantic desire to sell their houses is understandable.
The city has been painted a dark orange color by the outside air, making it appear foreboding and really harmful to locals.
According to an IQAir assessment, the city had the worst air quality on Wednesday of any major city on the globe, prompting officials to advise residents to stay indoors and limit their exposure to the dangerous air as much as possible.
According to the assessment, New York has surpassed New Delhi as the main metropolis with the poorest air quality on the globe as a result of the wildfire haze.
Not just in New York City, either. Air quality warnings have been issued by municipal and state agencies across the northern United States, including the Northeast.
This rush to sell occurs at a time when housing costs have been rising quickly.
While the average house price in New York is 2.7% higher than it was a year ago, mortgage rates countrywide are reaching 7% after being at 2% just a year and a half ago.
It will be fascinating to watch if this rise translates into more listings and transactions and what this may imply for the city’s housing market in the long run, according to FindStorageFast CEO and Founder D’Arcy Hunter, who also points out that neither buyers nor sellers are in a great position to gain at the moment.
