
Several tracking websites revealed that a passenger plane controlled by North Korea was en route to the Chinese capital on Tuesday.
Since North Korea closed its borders in reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, Air Koryo has not operated a commercial flight. According to Flightradar und the Chinese monitoring software Umetrip, flight JS151 departed from the North Korean capital at approximately 8:00 am local time (2330 GMT).
According to the airport’s website, it is scheduled to land at Beijing Capital Airport at 9:11 am China time.
Air Koryo abruptly canceled a previously booked flight to Beijing on Monday without providing a formal explanation.
