New York City Mayor Eric Adams appointed Boro Park community leader, Joel Eisdorfer as Senior Advisor to his administration. Eisdorfer is the third Orthodox Jew but the first Chassidic Jew appointed to Adams administration. He has worked as a senior staffer for Adams before during his days in the State Senate while serving as a community liaison at the New York State Senate for over seven years. Eisdorfer continued working for him in Borough Hall when Adams was Borough President.

Eisdorfer has also served as a board member for the Boro Park Jewish Community Council and has served on Brooklyn’s Community Board 12 for almost 20 years.

Eisdorfer’s appointment was applauded by Jewish officials who have worked with him and who look forward to working with him in the future.

“The BPJCC was honored to have Joel on our executive board until the end of last year,” says Avi Greenstein, BPJCC CEO. “The Adam’s administration is very fortunate to have on its team such a devoted and brilliant individual who has dedicated his entire life to helping the community.”
