The NYPD has started its move to eradicate violent gang members in the streets of New York by conducting an early morning raid in Brooklyn that resulted in the arrest of 17 violent gang members.
Among those arrested in the daring raid around 4:30 in the morning is Giovannie Bennett, 17 who is tagged in the shooting of a 19-year-old student and wounding of a 17-year-old bystander.
Also arrested are two 17 years olds tagged in shooting incidents as well.
The NYPD said the 17 gang members they arrested are tagged in 15 violent incidents, four murders, eight attempted murders, and seizure of 20 guns.
NYPD deputy chief John Chell said their raids against gang members are their way of keeping the streets free from these people.
Chell said this raid should serve as a warning to other gang members to avoid committing crimes in NYC streets or they will end up in jail.
