The NYPD is now hunting down a Hispanic male who assaulted and robbed a middle-aged woman at Coney Island Ave. and Ave. V at around 6 pm Tuesday.

According to reports, the woman had just left Chase Bank when the suspect approached, threw her to the ground, grabbed her pocketbook containing $5,200 in cash she had just withdrawn, and fled.

The woman who suffered minor injuries from the attack tried to fight off the perp but the latter is just too strong for her.

For the speedy arrest of the nameless suspect, the public is urged to call 9-1-1 and then the 24-hour Flatbush Shomrim hotline at 718-338-9797 if they have some information on the matter.

With regards to the daring robbery, the authorities warned the public to always be aware of their surroundings when making large cash withdrawals from banks, especially during this time of year.

The authorities said with daylight ending early and the holiday season fast approaching, criminals are on the lookout for people carrying cash and other valuables.
